The World of TCL

Europe after the collapse — not from a single catastrophe, but from a cascade. Disease, war, and something stranger underneath it all. What survived is fractured, contested, and alive with consequence.

Setting Overview

The TCL setting spans multiple seasons across different maps in post-collapse Europe. Each season introduces new territory, new threats, and new layers to an ongoing story that does not reset between chapters. Events have consequences. Factions rise and fall. Characters carry their histories forward.

The current arc takes place in the Southern Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, where the fallout from the Pripyat arc continues to unfold. The bunkers have been opened. What emerged from them was not what went in. The Imperium is still operating in the shadows, the Horsemen have all risen or resurfaced, and the survivors caught between these forces are doing what survivors do — adapting, allying, and occasionally making terrible decisions.

The tone is grounded and bleak, with threads of hope carried by the people, not the powers. Technology exists but is scarce. Trust is the rarest resource of all.

Post-Apocalyptic Europe Multi-Season Continuity Sci-Fi Elements Supernatural Influences
Persistent Factions

These factions span multiple seasons and carry continuous storylines. They are not introduced and resolved within a single arc — they are part of the permanent fabric of the world.

Imperium
Antagonist
"Humanity does not evolve by waiting."
The rogue R&D department that broke from Greater Imperium to exploit what should have been buried. They reverse-engineer experimental technology to augment, experiment on, and mutate survivors — for military contracts and ideological conviction. The primary antagonist of the server. Their reach is long, their belief in their work is genuine, and that is what makes them dangerous.
The Guild
Allied
"You don't survive alone. You never did."
Founded as a haven for survivors in the wasteland that exists after the fall. Continued by a survivor who experienced the horrors of Imperium experimentation. The Guild provides structure, protection, and purpose to survivors who have none. They clear undead hordes, resist Imperium operations, and maintain what passes for a social contract in the wasteland. Their history is deeply entangled with the forces they fight against.
Splinter Forces
Allied
"We took their tools. We will not take their methods."
Born from within the rogue R&D department itself. Splinter Forces draw the line at consent. They do not oppose augmentation or experimental technology — they oppose using survivors without their knowledge or agreement. Their members are enhanced through stolen Imperium tech, but every modification is voluntary. Currently allied with The Guild.
C.R.O.W.S
Independent
"The zone does not forgive the unprepared."
A private military-research corporation originally contracted to secure abandoned laboratories and the contents within. Isolated by treaty with the Pride for years before being forced into open conflict. C.R.O.W.S now operates alongside survivor factions with an eye toward the escalating likelihood of chemical warfare. Not aligned with Imperium ideology, but their history intersects with both.
NightShade Global
Independent
"Sit Contumacia Lux Nostra In Tenebris."
A US-based private military company employing contractors and international special forces, operating in major global conflicts and covert missions. Known for elite standards, they handled raids, security, VIP recovery, espionage, subversion, and anomaly containment. ---[REDACTED]---
Nepheros Battalion
Independent
"Are you willing to pay the price?"
An Imperium-enhanced private military company often contracted to do "whatever is needed." Formerly allied to Imperium, the contracts now dissolved, they now work for the highest bidder - including the survivors provided they are willing to pay the price. Known for thier ruthless efficiency and willingness to operate in the gray areas of morality; and thier CLS-13 'Dire Wolf' ehancements that give them a unique standing and operating capability.
The Four Horsemen
Cosmic
"We do not wage war on humanity. We maintain what humanity forgot it needed."
Literal embodiments — Death, War, Pestilence, and Famine — acting as agents of the Natural Order. Not political. Not biblical. Something far older. A counterweight to Imperium's transhumanist ideology. They act when outside forces disrupt the natural progression of humanity and the earth. All four have risen or resurfaced.
